Ou Xiaoli: Using Dialogue as the Golden Rule

President Xi Jinping once pointed out that dialogue is a golden rule. It is important to strengthen dialogue to promote the construction of the "Belt and Road". Dialogue plays an important role in enhancing mutual understanding, building consensus on cooperation, coordinating interest demands, and resolving potential risks. The first of the "five links" in the construction of the "Belt and Road", policy communication also needs repeated dialogue to complete.

President Xi Jinping once stressed that "in the construction of the "Belt and Road", we advocate that different nations and cultures should 'communicate with each other' rather than 'communicate with each other in evil'. We should tear down more walls and build fewer walls with each other, use dialogue as the 'golden rule', and let everyone be neighbors with whom we have exchanges".
 

Countries along the "Belt and Road" have different political characteristics, development modes and cultural traditions. Through communication and dialogue, countries can better understand each other's political positions, development strategies and interest demands, reduce misunderstanding and suspicion, enhance political mutual trust, and lay a solid political foundation for the construction of the "Belt and Road". We can have sufficient exchanges on economic development strategies and countermeasures, and based on the principle of seeking common ground while reserving differences, negotiate and formulate plans and measures to promote regional cooperation, and give the green light to regional economic integration in terms of policies and laws.
      Faced with unilateralism and conservatism, we should insist on dialogue even more! We will continue to uphold the Silk Road spirit of "peaceful cooperation, openness and inclusiveness, mutual learning, and win-win cooperation", follow the three common principles of "mutual consultation, joint construction, and sharing", work with the participating countries of the "Belt and Road", respect each other's sovereignty, dignity, territorial integrity, development path and social system, respect each other's core interests and major concerns, continue to do a good job in dialogue and communication, and seek the maximum common denominator of cooperation, so that the "Belt and Road" can better serve the cause of common development and prosperity of all countries, and sing the strongest voice in the history of win-win development.
