In this beautiful season of vegetation growth, guests from 47 countries and five continents in Asia have come together to deepen cultural exchanges and learn from each other to participate in the grand event. First of all, on behalf of the Chinese government and people, and in my own name, I would like to extend my sincere congratulations on the opening of the Asian civilization dialogue conference! I'd like to extend a warm welcome to all the guests!
At present, the world's multipolarization, economic globalization, cultural diversity and social informatization are developing in depth, and human society is full of hope. At the same time, the instability and uncertainty of the international situation are more prominent, and the global challenges facing mankind are more severe, which requires the concerted efforts of all countries in the world.
To cope with common challenges and move towards a better future, we need not only economic and technological strength, but also cultural and cultural strength. Generation after generation of Asian ancestors, after years of baptism, have engraved the production and life practice into a long history and accumulated into a profound civilization. In the course of thousands of years of development, the Asian people have created brilliant achievements in civilization. Civilizations communicate because of diversity, learn from each other through exchanges, and develop with mutual learning. We should strengthen exchanges and mutual learning among different countries, nationalities and cultures in the world, and consolidate the humanistic foundation for building a community of shared destiny in Asia and a community of shared future for mankind. To this end, I would like to make four points.
First, adhere to mutual respect and equal treatment. Each civilization is rooted in its own survival soil, condenses the extraordinary wisdom and spiritual pursuit of a country and a nation, and has its own value of existence. There are only differences in skin color, language and civilization, but there is no difference between high and low. It is foolish in understanding and disastrous in practice to think that one's race and civilization are superior to others and are determined to reform or even replace other civilizations! If human civilization becomes only one color and one mode, the world will be too monotonous and boring! We should uphold equality and respect, abandon arrogance and prejudice, deepen our understanding of the differences between our own civilization and other civilizations, and promote the exchange, dialogue and harmonious coexistence of different civilizations.
I have visited many places in the world. What attracts me most is the civilization with different charm, such as Samarkand in Central Asia, Luxor Temple in Egypt, Sentosa in Singapore, jade Buddha Temple in Bangkok in Thailand, Acropolis in Athens in Greece, etc. China is willing to carry out Asian cultural heritage protection actions with other countries to provide necessary support for better heritage of civilization.
Second, adhere to the beauty of beauty, beauty and common. Every civilization is the crystallization of beauty, and shows the beauty of creation. All good things are interlinked. People's yearning for beautiful things can't be stopped by any force! There is no conflict among civilizations, but the eyes to appreciate the beauty of all civilizations. We should not only make our own civilization full of vitality, but also create conditions for the development of other countries' civilization, so that the flowers of world civilization can be colorful.
The beauty of civilization is embodied in classic works such as philosophy and Social Sciences, and literary works such as literature, music, film and TV series. Now, a large number of foreign excellent cultural products have entered China, and many Chinese excellent cultural products have gone to the world. China is willing to work with relevant countries to implement the Asian classic translation program and the Asian Film and television exchange and cooperation program, so as to help people deepen their understanding and appreciation of each other's culture, and create an exchange and mutual learning platform for displaying and disseminating the beauty of civilization.
Third, we should be open and inclusive and learn from each other. All living organisms need metabolism, otherwise life will stop. Civilization is the same, if long-term self closed, it will decline. Exchange and mutual learning is the essential requirement of civilization development. Only by exchanging with other civilizations and learning from each other, can we maintain vigorous vitality. The exchange and mutual learning of civilizations should be equal and equal. It should be pluralistic and multi-directional. It should not be compulsory or compulsory. It should not be single and one-way. We should break down the barriers of cultural exchanges with a broad mind of embracing all rivers, absorb the nutrients of other civilizations with an inclusive attitude, and promote the common progress of Asian civilizations in the process of exchanges and mutual learning.
